One fine morning, Emily was just cruising back and forth along the coast. She was looking for interesting things at the bottom of the harbour. “There’s a starfish!”, she said. “And a seashell!”. Emily just loved finding things. Suddenly, she heard a familiar tooty toot-toot sound. It was Carla, the cool cabin cruiser. “Hi, Emily!”, called Carla. “Hello”, said Emily. “What are you doing, Carla?”. “I found a little cove just past Rocky Point”, said Carla. “That sounds exciting”, said Emily. “And I was thinking”, continued Carla, “that maybe you and I could have our own secret club there”. “That sounds fun!”, shouted Emily. “Cool!”, said Carla. “Follow me and I’ll show you”. And the two set off together. *** Emily and Carla hadn’t gone very far when they met Theodore and Hank. “Hi, Emily! Hi, Carla!”, called Hank. “What are you two doing?”, asked Theodore. “We’re starting a secret club”, Emily announced. “A secret club?”, said Theodore. “Can we join?”, asked Hank. Emily thought that was a

Skarloey Storms Through (REWRITE)
It had been raining hard for several days. Trees were down, tracks were flooded, and roofs were blown off. All of the engines were doing their best to carry on. One day, the engines were resting in the shed when the Fat Controller came to see them. “The winds have blown the roof off the farmers barn. Peter Sam, I need you to collect trucks of timber and take them to the farmers”. “Yes sir!”, said Peter Sam. His boiler bubbled and he hurried away to collect his trucks. “Take care, Peter Sam”, called Skarloey. “Fancy him going out in weather like this”, huffed Duncan. “Anyone would think that he wanted to work”, grumbled Sir Handel. “Shut up!”, said Rheneas crossly. “The farmers need that timber”. “And”, continued Skarloey, “you must be careful in weather like this. Rain can flood the tracks or -“. “Old Faithful, scared of a little rain”, laughed Duncan and Sir Handel. This made Skarloey cross. But secretly, Duncan wasn’t wrong about his fears. When Peter Sam arrived to collect his
Light... darkness... light... darkness... My eyes flutter My head heavy My body, full of strength an energy I am... I am different I am new What is this strange sensation? I hear a clunk as my injector is opened I hear steam "wheesh" from my valves I hear the cries of joy from men swelling with pride The sunshine reflecting off the silver rails This feeling inside of power fleeting my insecurities Into the warm morning Something I've never felt before I then begin to move Steam billowing Pistons pumping I start to pick up speed Sets of points rattling as I go over them The speed limit all that is standing in my way now My eyes meet the long stretch of steel ahead My wheels follow suit That glorious stretch of silver might as well be gold As I start to race along it, with no one to challenge me or drag me down All the struggle All the insecurities All the doubt All of the "rubbish Henry you dont work hard enough" comments from my colleagues All of everything Its done That

Number 1 Godred: It's amazing how much one accident can do. Once in peak condition, a prime example of the modern machine, flying down the rails with the wind brushing past, the excitement of being able to move faster and more efficiently than any other form of transportation. The epitome of unstoppable. Now, here I am, in excruciating pain as one of my siblings shunts my battered and busted frame into the shed, face forward, as he stares me down with a sorry frown planted on his face. But it is also a disappointed frown, no sympathy or guilt on his face. I do not feel it is unwarranted, I have done this to myself. But he is still my sibling, we are of the same maker, we care for each other, no engine gets left behind, even one who makes a mistake as foolish as mine! These thoughts are interrupted as my cracked wheels continue to slowly run along the iron girders, jolting erratically, and then that brief moment of ignorance fades into self-hate once more. My pistons still have excess
'The sidings erupted with the sound of the "Pop goes the Diesel" chorus, the trucks laughing louder everytime after singing it over and over again. Some more imaginative trucks began singing original verses, the atmosphere was jovial, as if the trucks never wanted the joke to end, Diesel moved towards some sidings fairly close to the mainline where a group of trucks were preparing to sing the song once more. Truck: I suggest we do it in a gradual quartet, so the lads at the front start and just before you finish, the song is carried on to the lads behind and then after we've reached the final row, we all sing it together as loud as possible. (the trucks titter in approval, Diesel scowls) Diesel: (muttering) They're about to go into that blasted song again. Trucks: Right, 3... 2... 1 (Diesel toots his horn to let them know hes coming) Trucks: Best not, old oily's back. Diesel: (in a fake friendly tone) Good afternoon chaps, just doing a bit of shunting, not disturbing anything

“That’s a wrap, everyone,” Aizawa sighed. Class 2-A erupted, for lack of a better term, into the sounds of chairs grinding against the floors, backpacks being picked up and students getting up to leave. Bakugo was the first one out, no doubt going straight to the second-years’ dorms.
But Midoriya, Uraraka momentarily lingered, discussing their homework, until the stream of students leaving the classroom nudged them all out the door, into the hallway and bound for the dorms, too.
“Man, this is gonna be tough,” Midoriya sighed, rubbing his wild green hair.
“Midoriya, a ten-page theme is nothing to ge

Snow Place Like Home Alone: Ch. 3
The day had turned to night as Kevin hurried down the snow covered road, on his way to Crovan’s Gate. The road followed along the mainline tracks in the same direction so Kevin wouldn’t get lost. It was a clear night as the stars twinkled above, but the north wind made the journey a little more difficult as it blew against Kevin. But he was determined to find the nearest officer to explain his findings that he continued to push forward. The wind changed in several directions and it picked up light snow from the ground. A strong gale suddenly forced Kevin so far sideways, that Alex lost control of the steering! The little crane spun out of control, crashed through a fence, slid down a hill, and landed on his side, in a snow mound next to the tracks! Kevin: (spits snow) Oh dear! (grunts as he tries to move) I’m stuck! (grunts again as he tries harder but kicking up more snow from the wheels buried him a little more) Oh… Now I’m really stuck! Alex: (crawls out of Kevin’s cab) Aw bugger!

Back at the Steamworks, Kevin’s driver Alex had just finished painting Kevin in his new paint. Instead of Kevin’s lemon color, it was now lime. The opened paint can of glow-in-the-dark paint, sat next to Kevin, half empty. Alex: (chuckles) This may get you in a lot of trouble. But I will admit, this’ll be a great look for you! Kevin: (giggles) I can’t wait to see it in the dark! (calls) Hey Victor! I’m wearing glow-in-the-dark paint! You gonna come out and tell me to remove it? (silence) I didn’t think so! Alex: Now hold still, I have to clean your face. Alex had brought forth a bucket of soapy water and began cleaning Kevin’s face. Kevin made sure to keep his eyes shut as the suds trickled over his eyelids. As Kevin’s Driver went to fetch the hose to rinse, some of the suds tickled over Kevin’s nose. Kevin: A-a-achoo!! The suds went flying from his sneeze and in that excitement, Kevin’s eyes shot open. It was too late to reclose them because the suds sneaked into his eyes.

There really is no place like home for the holidays, especially for the engines of Sodor. It was four days before Christmas, and everyone was working hard. Some of the engines were in festive spirits for the coming celebration, while others were starting to become stressed. With many families and relatives traveling on and off Sodor, it’s enough for the passenger trains to feel exhausted at the end of the day. All the engines took care on the snowy tracks, for they didn’t want to derail and end up at the Sodor Steamworks on Christmas Day. In fact, there wasn’t much work to do at the Steamworks, as Kevin the mobile crane wandered around the quiet building. He just finished organizing crates of spare parts in alphabetical order, cross-referenced by color, to even reverse indexed by size! Kevin: (sighs dramatically) I’m sooo bored! Victor: (puffs up) I know there isn’t much to do now, but that’s a good thing! Less work means less engines are in trouble. And besides, I’d hate to see an

Twilight Sparkle: *Sighs peacefully.* Nothing but a little bit of studying with no one around. A little bit of peace and quiet with some time to myself.
Spike: Hey, Twilight! *Runs up with a letter in his hand.*
